The Dip, Sydney CBD

IMG_0548

One of the good things of being a food blogger is the privilege of using an excuse of food blogger catch up to try some new restaurant. The Dip featuring American goodies such as pulled pork, hot dog & nachos has recently opened in the CBD, hidden within the Goodgod nightclub. I am not a really big fan of hot dogs and this sort of foods but I must say their hot dog are [...]

Aria Restaurant, Circular Quay

img_0510_thumb

If you follow this season’s Master Chef, you will notice Matt Moran was one of the guest judges on the judge panel. I was over the moon when I heard that our business partner BTIG is bringing us to Aria restaurant located opposite of the opera house for lunch. The whole time during one of the pressure test, where contestants have to recreate Matt Moran’s duck consommé dish with abalone, I would rave about [...]

One of those weeknights catch up dinner with my girlfriends again. We decided to give the new Japanese izakaya – Ichigo Ichie a try. It is secretly tucked into a laneway on Central Street opposite of George Street cinema. Although it was a chilly Thursday night, the friendly staffs made me felt warm and welcomed. We took a few minute to enjoy the warm and stylish décor, I especially love their Japanese cherry blossom painting [...]

Mother’s Day Gift Ideas?

the_master_cook.jpg

Only one more week before Mother’s day. I am thinking how to surprise mum with a gift she is sure to love. She is just like me, another food lover, but a health cautious one. She doesn’t like anything too sweet, too salty or too funky. Was thinking about a hamper full of fruits & gourmet fare and sent to her work.   [The basket case] I am sure all her colleagues will envy her [...]

Kungfu Ramen, Haymarket Chinatown

IMG_0314.jpg

Former Vietnamese restaurant Xic Lo is now Kungfu Ramen. Specialised in hand pull noodle with a reasonable priced menu. Similar to other Northern Chinese restaurant like SeaBay or Chinese dumplings restaurant in Chinatown, pan fried dumplings, bbq lamb skewer is pretty standard. The service was really nice as the chef allows me to take pics and witness a live show of hand-pulling of noodles. Ratings Food: 5/10 Atmosphere: 5/10 Service: 7/10 Value: 5/10 Average Price [...]

Brunette Belgian Praline Spread from Le Pain Quotidien, Sydney Westfield

spread.jpg

www.lepainquotidien.com picture adapted from Fontshop   Surprisingly when 99% of the population loves Nutella I am the 1%. Ironically I fell in love with Brunette, a rather less sweet, creamy smooth hazelnut spread that is double of the price of Nutella. I happened to found these babies in a small cafe in Sydney Westfield called Le Pain Quotidien. JC had his breakfast there on boxing day before he broke the bank and he can’t [...]
