Kungfu Ramen, Haymarket Chinatown
Former Vietnamese restaurant Xic Lo is now Kungfu Ramen. Specialised in hand pull noodle with a reasonable priced menu. Similar to other Northern Chinese restaurant like SeaBay or Chinese dumplings restaurant in Chinatown, pan fried dumplings, bbq lamb skewer is pretty standard. The service was really nice as the chef allows me to take pics and witness a live show of hand-pulling of noodles. Ratings Food: 5/10 Atmosphere: 5/10 Service: 7/10 Value: 5/10 Average Price [...]

Golden Century, Sydney China Town
Every winter I will always go to Golden Century at least once, simply because of the seasonal menu – lamb brisket hot pot. Lamb brisket hot pot is a traditional Cantonese food which a lot of us will eat during winter time. Lamb not only is high in protein, it can also promote blood circulation and helps strengthen capacity to keep out of the cold. Another thing I love there is the Pipi, it is [...]

Chef’s Gallery, Sydney CBD
While I was walking toward china town from Wynyard, I noticed the empty shop next to KFC George Street has turned into a dim sim Chinese restaurant. The amount of people lining up there was similar to the iphone 4 line infront of apple store. I decided I must give it a try. Honestly I am not a big fan of dim sim especially the steam one, but to satisfy my readers I have to [...]

Sea Bay Handmade Noodle Restaurant, Burwood
Northern Chinese food is famous in their hand-made noodles and dumplings. This is what Sea Bay handmade noodle restaurant is all about. I am a huge fan of noodles, from rice noodle, egg noodle, ramen, udon, hokkien, vermicelli. I have special requirement for each types. So in determining whether the noodle is good or not, these are the things I looked at: size/thickness, shape, colour and chewiness. Handmade noodles should be slightly different in size. [...]
