Ajisen Ramen, World Square
Sorry for the non-noodle eater, as promise I have to continue blog about all the ramen around Sydney so bare with me. This time we went to Ajisen Ramen which has two branches in City, one in Haymarket and one near World Square. We dined at World Square one because of its convenient location near the train station.
This place is less impressive compare to all my other experience, it doesn’t taste authentic and seems to have a lot of MSG in the soup. Their noodle is not too much like a ramen, it’s more like a rice noodle to me. What’s good is their menu is very extensive, if you don’t want to order ramen there is always other things to cater your needs. Portion was big at a reasonable price especially with my buy one get one free entertainment voucher.

You will be surprise that they are also having snow ice dessert, which is flavoured shaved ice that is very soft in texture. I tried the snow ice somewhere else so I know how good it is. If you still have room after the main course have a try at the peanut butter shaved ice.
Tontoro (pork cheek) Ramen, $15
I was looking for something light and not spicy, usually I must order something with an egg but not in here because their egg are just hard boil egg which is not my favourite kind of egg. The Tontoro was very tender and soft. Soup was sweet and with a lot of cabbage in it. However, I must say the service in here was horrible, waitress doesn’t bother to smile and only chat among themselves.
Chashu Ramen, $13.50
My friend opted for the Chasha Ramen, she finished it in no time so I assume it was good. It was topped with about 4 – 5 slices of thin pork belly, green onions, hard-boil egg and black fungus slice. The soup of hers and mine looks very similar. I think to have a perfect bowl of ramen a salted gooey egg is a must but Ajisen could not deliver this to us.
Conclusion: The service in here was quick but not attentive, the food is average if you are looking for something quick and simple then give this place a try.
